Greetings MGET users,

Over the past year, a number of you contacted me regarding problems using MGET’s MODIS SST tools for dates in 2010 and 2011. These are the tools that in ArcGIS appear under the MGET, Data Products, NASA JPL PO.DAAC, MODIS Global Level 3 Mapped SST. As I said at the time, the problem was that a bug in NASA’s OPeNDAP server prevented it from serving data for day 265 of 2010 and later.

I am happy to report that NASA contact me this morning and reported that the bug is fixed. I ran a few simple tests and they seemed to work. If you are interested in this MODIS data, please give it a try now and let me know if you still have problems.

If you do try it, be sure you are running MGET 0.8a26 or later. Last spring, NASA switched to a new OPeNDAP server. It had a new Internet address and we had to patch MGET to use it instead of the old one. MGET 0.8a26 and later releases contain that patch.
