Marine Geospatial Ecology Tools Announcements MGET 0.7 Beta 1 is released The Marine Geospatial Ecology Tools Development Team invites you
to download MGET 0.7 Beta 1, now available on the MGET
home page. As this is a beta release, we are especially interested in your
feedback so we can fix any problems prior to issuing the final release sometime
in July. Notable new tools included in MGET 0.7: ·
Tools for downloading species observations from
data providers such as the Ocean Biogeographic Information System (OBIS) using
the DiGIR protocol ·
A tool for calculating species diversity indices for
arbitrary polygons ·
Tools for batch conversion of QuikSCAT sigma-0 sea surface
roughness files published by the BYU MERS lab in SIR format to
ArcGIS format ·
Tools for batch conversion of ArcGIS rasters to points, lines,
polygons, and polygon outlines ·
Tools for batch calculating the distance from points to the
nearest points, lines, or polygons, and copying attributes from them ·
Tools for batch projecting, clipping, and/or executing map
algebra in one step Notable enhancements and bug fixes: ·
Support for the latest versions of ArcGIS (9.3.1) and R (2.9.0) ·
Dramatically improved performance under ArcGIS 9.3 ·
An important bug fix in the Cayula-Cornillon SST
front detection tool ·
Many improvements and fixes to the Statistics tools ·
Many improvements to the installation program Important notes: ·
The parameters of some of the Statistics tools have changed.
After installing this release, you may need to fix your geoprocessing models to
use the new parameters. ·
These changes affect the downloadable habitat modeling example
(HabModExample2). If you use this example, please download the new version of
