Marine Geospatial Ecology Tools Announcements MGET 0.7 is released! The Marine Geospatial Ecology Tools Development Team invites you
to download MGET 0.7, now available on the MGET home
page. This release, 8 months in the making, includes 78 new
features, enhancements, and bug fixes implemented since the 0.6 release. See
the Change List for complete details. Highlights
include: New tools ·
Tools for downloading species observations from data providers
such as the Ocean Biogeographic Information System (OBIS) using the DiGIR
protocol ·
A tool for calculating species diversity indices for arbitrary
polygons ·
Tools for batch conversion of QuikSCAT sigma-0 sea surface
roughness files published by the BYU MERS lab in SIR format to
ArcGIS format ·
Tools for batch conversion of ArcGIS rasters to points, lines,
polygons, and polygon outlines ·
Tools for batch calculating the distance from points to the
nearest points, lines, or polygons, and copying attributes from them ·
Tools for batch projecting, clipping, and/or executing map
algebra in one step For a complete list if the 185 tools in MGET, click here. New examples ·
Building an archive of popular oceanographic products in
ArcGIS raster format (includes a script you can run) ·
Calculating species diversity index grids from species
presence points For more examples, click here. Notable enhancements and bug fixes ·
Support for the latest versions of ArcGIS (9.3.1) and R (2.9.1) ·
Dramatically faster performance under ArcGIS 9.3 ·
Reduced memory leaks under ArcGIS 9.3, so batch tools can run
longer (ArcGIS itself still leaks, so tools cannot run forever without being restarted) ·
An important bug fix in the Cayula-Cornillon SST
front detection tool ·
Several new options and many improvements to the Statistics
tools ·
Many improvements to the installation program ·
Better support for non-English versions of Windows and ArcGIS Important notes ·
The parameters of some of the Statistics tools have changed.
After installing this release, you may need to fix your geoprocessing models to
use the new parameters. ·
These changes affect the downloadable habitat modeling example
(HabModExample2). If you use this example, please download the new version of
it when you install MGET 0.7. You were sent this message because you subscribed to the MGET Help
