Hi Simone,
I'm sorry you're seeing that error. Someone else reported seeing it recently
and we have not been able to definitively track down the reason for it.
The actual consequences of that error are usually not important to most MGET
users. That error means that you may not be able to run MGET functions from
environments other than ArcGIS and Python programs. Most users only use MGET
from ArcGIS or Python, so it is not important if that capability is broken.
I am guessing you do not care about that capability. If so, you can ignore
this error, providing that no other problems occurred. Do you see MGET in
the ArcToolbox list in ArcGIS? If so, you are probably ok. If you do not see
it there then there may be a larger installation problem and I would
recommend the following procedure to fix it:
1. Close all ArcGIS programs.
2. Start the Windows Control Panel. Click on Uninstall A Program (or if you
are viewing the control panel as icons, click on Programs And Features).
3. Scroll down the list of programs. Look for one called Python 2.5
GeoEco-0.8a28. If you see it, uninstall it. Ignore any errors.
4. Now you are ready to install MGET again. Start Windows Explorer. Go to
the place where you downloaded GeoEco-0.8a28.win32-py2.5.exe. Now
right-click on that program and select Run As Administrator. Proceed with
the installation. Hopefully you will not get any errors.
If you neglected to use the Run As Administrator command when you installed
MGET the first time, it could be one reason for the error you received.
Still, that should not happen because the installer is supposed to detect
that Run As Administrator was not used and give an error message to that
effect. Anyway, let me know how it goes.
