Dear Rafael,

I’m sorry for my slow response. My wife just had a baby.

Are you still experiencing this problem? The HYCOM servers have experienced some problems over the last two weeks. The biggest problem was a power failure on 8 October, which also caused some file system corruption for them. From what I can see, they are back in operation now, and you shouldn’t see that error with MGET. If you are still seeing it, there is something we need to investigate (please let me know)…

Best regards,

Jason

Subject: [mget-help] MGET connectivity analysis

Dear,

I am just wondering if I can use connectivity analysis within MGET package to model connectivity between coral reef patches in Southwestern Atlantic Ocean. I have downloaded MGET 0.8a44 and planned to use HYCOM Global modelling. My question is because I am getting the following error message:

"RuntimeError: Failed to retrieve the data slice [1181:1182,0:1,390:2172,0:

4500] of Grid variable u of OPeNDAP URL http://tds.hycom.org/thredds/dodsC/glb_analysis due to timeout: timed out. The request was retried for 120 seconds without success. Check that the OPeNDAP server is operating properly and that your computer can connect to it. If necessary, contact the server's operator for assistance. If the server and network are operating properly, this problem could be a programming error in this tool. If you suspect one, contact the author of this tool for assistance. Error details: timeout: timed out"

Many thanks in advance,

Rafael
