Dear Margaret,

Yes, MGET should work with ArcGIS 10.1 Service Pack 1. I regularly use it with that configuration.

It sounds like there is something wrong with the MGET installation. I would recommend:

1.    Close all ArcGIS programs.

2.    Uninstall MGET from the Windows Control Panel à Programs and Features.

3.    Start ArcCatalog. Open the ArcToolbox window. Make sure MGET is not listed there. If it is, right click on it and remove it.

4.    Start Windows Explorer. Go to C:\Program Files and look for a directory called GeoEco. If it is there, delete it. Then go to C:\Program Files (x86) and do the same thing. This directory will only exist if you have a 64-bit computer.

5.    Install MGET again and try it from ArcCatalog.

If that works, then try it from ArcMap, if ArcMap is your preferred environment for analysis (it is possible to use ArcCatalog instead of ArcMap, but many people prefer ArcMap). Please note that if you have existing ArcMap documents, I recommend you remove the existing MGET listed in the ArcToolbox and add it again from C:\Program Files\GeoEco\ArcGISToolbox, since you have reinstalled MGET.

Please feel free to contact me again if this does not solve the problem.

Best regards,

Jason

Subject: [mget-help] MGET with 10.1 sp1?

Hi,

Should MGET work with ArcGIS 10.1 service pack 1? I have downloaded and installed MGET-0.8a46.win32-py2.7.exe according to the instructions.

If I try to run a tool from the MGET toolbox the ArcGIS processing box pops up and then closes saying processing is complete, however nothing has actually happened. No output files are created, and the processing window does not seem to show that the necessary sub-operations are being carried out, just that processing has started, then that it has succeeded ... no error message. I am wondering if this is a known issue with ArcGIS 10.1 or may be related to the fact I have sp1 installed?

I am most interested in the tools linking to R but have checked even the simple ArcGIS conversion tools etc. get the same problem. Hope you can advise, I would really like to be able to use what looks like a great set of tools you have in MGET, but I need to retain 10.1 sp1 for other work.

Thanks, Margaret
