Dear Mario,
I am sorry, but MGET does not support importing .main files. As I understand
it, .main files are used with NASA OceanColor's Level-3 Binned Data
Products, as described here
http://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/DOCS/ocformats.html#5 and here
http://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/PRODUCTS/modis_binned.html. Unfortunately
MGET cannot process those.
MGET does provide direct access to the Level-3 Standard Mapped Image
Products. In the MGET toolbox, you can access these under Data Products -->
NASA GSFC OceanColor Group --> L3 Products. This will let you import all of
the products viewable under the Level 3 Browser website
http://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/cgi/l3. These are the products that most
MGET users are interested in. To access then, do not download them from the
Level 3 Browser website. Instead, just enter the characteristics into the
MGET tool named Create Rasters for NASA OceanColor L3 SMI product. That tool
will automatically handle the downloading and conversion for you.
If you have a .main file that you absolutely must use from ArcGIS, it might
be possible to use the NASA SeaDAS software to convert it to a HDF-EOS file.
I do not know how to do that, but if it is possible, you could then use MGET
to convert that HDF file to ArcGIS-compatible raster format. You may also be
able to use SeaDAS to export a GeoTIFF directly, but again, I do not know
how to do it. (You would have to read the SeaDAS documentation.)
I hope that helps. If you can describe your situation a bit more, I might be
able to provide more advice.
Best regards,
Jason

Subject: [mget-help] help - import aquamodis to arcgis
Hi Nicholas
Do you have any tutorial explaining how to import a .main data (from
aquamodis) to arcgis format?
I already installed MGET and it`s working, but I don't know how do the
transformation.
Thanks
