Kyle,
I'm not very familiar with the oceanography near Indonesia, but as a general
starting point you could try the HYCOM 1/12 degree products. In the ArcGIS
ArcToolbox window, go to MGET --> Data Products --> HYCOM Consortium -->
HYCOM + NCODA Global 1/12 Degree Reanalysis and Analysis (GLBu0.08) --> 4D
Variables --> Create Rasters for HYCOM GLBu0.08 3D Variable. Inside that
tool, be sure to specify a Spatiotemporal Extent that limits the download to
your area and time period of interest.
Another widely used global dataset is Aviso geostrophic currents. Go to MGET
--> Data Products --> AVISO --> DUACS 2014 Altimetry Products --> Create
Rasters for AVISO DUACS 2014 Product. Aviso only has 1/4 degree resolution,
compared to 1/12 for HYCOM, but it is more of a remote sensing product while
HYCOM as an assimilating ocean model. HYCOM utilizes data from same
satellites as AVISO, among other sources, so there should be close
correspondence between the two (in theory).
Hope that helps,
Jason

Subject: [mget-help] MGET Ocean Currents
Hello,
Do you have any recommendations for resources that have ocean current layers,
which I can process using the MGET tools? I am trying to study ocean currents
across Indonesia, but cannot seem to find good layers to start with.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Kyle Shaney
