Thanks for your interest in MGET. In general, nearly all MGET tools should run in ArcGIS 9.2, but we have not tested 9.2 in a very long time. My experience with 9.x is that it did not really become stable until about 9.3.1, so I recommend at least 9.3.1 or later. Performance of certain things improved a lot with 10.1, which introduced the arcpy.da module for use by MGET and other Python-based tools.

Some tools in MGET that create rasters can optionally output raster catalogs. If these tools are used to output raster catalogs, Arc 9.3 or later is required. If you do not ask them to output raster catalogs, they do not need 9.3.

Some tools in MGET that manipulate vector data, such as the Create Fishnet tool, require what used to be called the ArcInfo product level, which now corresponds to “advanced”.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have questions about specific tools. If you have 9.2 already, you could just try MGET and see how well it works. But I should say that we’re not very interested in supporting it on 9.2 anymore. If you discover minor 9.2-compatibility problems that we can easily fix without testing them, I’m happy to fix them. But if there are bigger problems, or something that requires complicated testing (which we can’t do, as we don’t have a 9.2 installation around anymore) then we will probably not be able to fix it.

Dear MGET authors,

Can you tell me the minimum ArcGIS configuration (i.e. version and license level) needed to be able to use all the tools provided in MGET ?

In details:

-          Is there a difference in the tools provided for ArcGIS 9.2 and those for ArcGIS 10.3 ?

-          Do I need an ArcGIS 10.3 advanced license to be able to use all the MGET tools ?
