Hi Stephen,

The short story: The version of MGET that you have is not compatible with R 3.3.1. You need MGET 0.8a65 which you can get for Arc 10.1 or later from here. (I have not been able to post it to the MGET website yet owing to a problem with our WordPress installation, which is being worked on…) Uninstall your existing copy of MGET first.

The long story: To communicate with R, MGET relies on a Python package called rpy. rpy runs the R interpreter within the process running the Python interpreter. To do this, it binds to R’s dynamic-link library (DLL). But it the linkage is done in such a way that I have to recompile rpy and release a new MGET each time a new version of R is released. The error message you are seeing, from MGET, is fairly poor and deceptive. Sorry about that. It should give maximum version of R that is supported and then ask you to either upgrade MGET or downgrade R. I will try to improve that at some point.

Best,

Jason

Hi all,

This seems like it should be a fairly straightforward fix – I recently tried running the Fit Tree Model in MGET, and when I go to execute it, I get the following error message:

“SoftwareNotInstalledError: This tool requires R 2.12.0 or a later version, but it is not installed. Please download and install a compatible version from http://www.r-project.org/.”

I have R 3.3.1 installed, and I tried adding the R directory to the PATH system variable, but so far that hasn’t worked. Looks like someone asked almost the same question back in March, but I wasn’t able to find the response.

Cheers,

Stephen
