Hi Andy,

Most likely, the Oregon State team released a new version of their database and that we have not tried yet, and there is some compatibility problem. The last time I personally tried the tool was in late 2014. They only update their database every couple of years, so this is not as unreasonable as it may seem. At that time, they were looking to transition production of the database to Aviso, but I’m not sure that ever actually happened.

Are you trying to convert this file?

http: // wombat . coas . oregonstate . edu /eddies/data/tracks_AVISO_DT2014_daily_web.nc.bz2

(Note that I have put some spaces in the domain name so that Duke’s antimalware system will not rewrite my URL to something inscrutable.)

Jason

Subject: [mget-help] MemoryError

Hello,

Has anyone received a MemoryError when running "Convert Mesoscale Eddies NetCDF to SpatiaLite Databse"?  I am trying to convert the Chelton et al. mesoscale eddy database.

Is this a hardware issue or software setup?  How do I work around this issue?  Thanks for your help.

Andy
