Thank you Jason for the quick reply. I tried your solution, and ArcGIS returned a raster output. yay!
The step I was missing was exactly as you stated. I'm glad it was
an easy fix. All the best, Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,
Nice to hear from you again! I’m sorry for that confusing message. It is generated by some generic code that is not very user-friendly.
The problem is easy to fix: you just need to tell the tool which predictor variable is associated with each raster. You do that in the Predictor Rasters table of the tool. It is the middle column:
The error message saying “The value 1 of row 0 of the predictorRasters parameter is required” is really trying to say “you must provide a value for the second column of the first row of the Predictor Rasters parameter”, but the code numbers things starting at 0 instead of 1 (thus value 1 of row 0, instead of value 2 of row 1). I should have done a better job with that error message! Also, you need to provide a value for the second row as well, but the tool failed immediately after finding the first problem—it did not go on to check all the rows.
So you want something like this:
The Predictor Variables should be named exactly how you named them in your GLM formula, with the same capitalization. (I’m guessing Latitude and Depth are close to what you used, but perhaps it was lat and bathy, or whatever.)
Predict GLM From Rasters should really be programmed to require that Predictor Variable column be filled out; it should bring up a red X mark if any values are blank. Unfortunately I could not figure out how to instruct ArcGIS to do that when I developed the tool. This was years ago around the time of ArcGIS 9.3. ArcGIS has since been enhanced to allow tools to have finer control over their user interfaces. For example, it would now allow MGET to create a dropdown box for Predictor Variable that would let you choose the variables rather than type them in.
The Resampling column does have a dropdown, only because the possible values are predefined ahead of time. We couldn’t predefine how the user would name predictor variables, so we couldn’t create a dropdown there. But newer versions of ArcGIS will let us read the predictor variables from the model file and then populate a dropdown. We hope to eventually overhaul MGET to allow this and make other improvements.
All the best,
Jason

Hi Jason and others~ I took an MGET workshop with you in Monterey, CA almost 7 years ago (!). MGET worked really well for a project I was working on. However, I'm afraid I haven't worked with MGET since! I would like to use it again, and have updated to the latest version of MGET. I checked the message boards, but didn't find much on my particular error. I am hoping it is an easy solution. I am getting the following error using the GLMPredictFromArcGISRasters. TypeError: The value 1 of row 0 of the predictorRasters parameter is required. Please provide a value.
As far as I can tell, names of the raster files, and the ArcGIS columns are the same (I remember this much!). The 1st step "Fit GLM to formula" worked great.
Please let me know if you need any other information. Thank you! Rebecca
