Sarah, Does it look to you like the MGET installation caused this to happen? I.e. that you were able to open ArcCatalog and ArcMap just prior to installing MGET, and
now you can’t, after you tried to install MGET? That is very worrisome to me as the MGET developer! Although I have never heard of that happening before. I think your best bet is to try to fix ArcGIS. None of the programs you installed to enable MGET
should affect ArcGIS. If you have ArcGIS 10.2.2 or 10.2.1 installation discs, I suggest you try upgrading from 10.2 to those ones. The upgrade procedure will ensure all of your ArcGIS files are not somehow corrupted or missing, and update them as well,
fixing ArcGIS bugs in the process. You do not need to uninstall 10.2 prior to upgrading. If you do not have 10.2.2 or 10.2.1 available, then you could try to “repair” the 10.2 installation. That might fix it. To do that, open the control panel,
go to Programs and Features, find ArcGIS 10.2 for Desktop in the list, select it, click Uninstall/Change (don’t worry, it won’t uninstall just by clicking this), and then select Repair once the setup program comes up. If that does not solve it, then the only thing I can recommend is to uninstall ArcGIS and install it again. After you do that, verify that you can start it.
Then try to add the MGET toolbox manually as I mentioned below. (Uninstalling ArcGIS does not uninstall MGET; MGET will remain available.) Sorry for all of this trouble!! Jason From: Sarah Privoznik [mailto:]
Hi Jason, thanks so much. I probably should've added that no, I can't open ArcCatalog or ArcMap now, been after uninstalling the new programs. I guess I may need to reinstall all the
programs? I have version 10.2. Sarah Sent from my Sprint phone. Hi Sarah, I have never seen that before. I’m not sure what’s happening. At that point in the installation procedure, the installer has started ArcCatalog in order to
add the MGET toolbox to the ArcToolbox tree. I’m not sure why ArcCatalog would crash at that point. What version of ArcGIS do you have? In any case, you should be able to work around this problem, assuming you can start ArcCatalog or ArcMap yourself manually. MGET was probably installed successfully
except for the step of adding the toolbox to the ArcToolbox tree. It does that as a convenience, so you don’t have to. You can do it yourself by right clicking on the top node of the ArcToolbox tree (the one called ArcToolbox), selecting Add Toolbox, and navigating
to C:\Program Files\GeoEco\ArcGISToolbox and adding the toolbox you see there. If that succeeds, you should be able to use MGET successfully, assuming there was no other installation problem. I hope that helps! Let me know how it goes… Jason From: Sarah Privoznik []
