Hi David,

Unfortunately we have not made much progress on the 64-bit port of MGET. It is a big job and we have no funding for it. The importance of this has been elevated with the advent of ArcGIS Pro, which is 64-bit. But the complexity increased as well, as ArcGIS Pro is also Python 3.x, necessitating a 2.x to 3.x port as well as the 32-bit to 64-bit.

If you have 64-bit Background Geoprocessing installed, MGET will still work with “foreground geoprocessing”, which is always 32-bit. So just make sure you always run MGET tools and Model Builder models that include MGET tools from the foreground. If you try to run MGET tools with Background Geoprocessing, they will probably fail with a message similar to “ImportError: No module named _GeoEcoArcGISHelper”.

(Note for people who reach this message by Googling on that ImportError message. That particular message can *also* happen with 32-bit foreground geoprocessing if there is an installation problem with MGET. Contact me for more information..)

Best,

Jason

Greetings,

Your web page said to contact you for status...

ArcGIS Desktop 10.x 64-bit
Background Geoprocessing

Under development (contact us for status)

My IT department updated my ArcGIS software to 10.4.1 with 64 bit background geoprocessing.

Do I have any options for running MGET?

David
