Dear Enrique,

I am sorry to say that we have not undertaken the effort to port MGET to QGIS. It would be great to do it, but it would be so much work that we could not attempt it without support from a funder. So far I have not been able to interest any of them in that project (it is hard to get funding specifically for tool development.)

It is probably possible to utilize MGET with an “evaluation” version of ArcGIS, but it would only run for a limited period of time. There might be other alternatives as well. For example, I have heard in the past about a program from ESRI that provides ArcGIS to non profit institutions for free or a nominal fee. However, I also heard that this was limited to the USA. So I am not sure.

Good luck with your research and all the best,

Jason

Hi!
First of all, thank you for sharing the tool you developed. I am undertaking a research programme on Marine Biology in the University of the Azores and I think It will be of great use for me.
The only matter is that I use free software as QGis, and as I saw that you were thinking about developing the tool to be compatible with such free software, I wanted to ask you If indeed that happened, and I could use your software with QGis.

Again, thank you very much for your time.

Regards,
Enrique.
