Dear Enrique,
I am sorry to say that we have not undertaken the effort to port MGET to QGIS. It would be great to do it, but it would be so much work that we could not attempt it without support from a funder. So far I have not been able to interest any of them in that project (it is hard to get funding specifically for tool development.)
It is probably possible to utilize MGET with an “evaluation” version of ArcGIS, but it would only run for a limited period of time. There might be other alternatives as well. For example, I have heard in the past about a program from ESRI that provides ArcGIS to non profit institutions for free or a nominal fee. However, I also heard that this was limited to the USA. So I am not sure.
Good luck with your research and all the best,
Jason
