Hello,
I'm preparing to fit Density Surface Models to harbour porpoise sightings data
corrected for detectability from line transect surveys around the UK as a part
of my MRes thesis work. To start, I've added Marine Geospatial Ecology Tools
(MGET) to my toolbox (ArcGIS 10.5.1). After plotting effort points and
converting them to polylines, I have attempted to split the transects into
smaller segment lengths according to the coarsest resolution of remote
environmental data I intend to test in the model (~7km).
Every time I try to run the tool, I get the following error message: "This
segment cannot be inserted into ArcGIS ShapeFile "C:_____" because field Id
has not been assigned a value and it is not nullable. You must provide a value
for this field." I've triple-checked the projection of the dataframe and
layers, and I've gone through all of my attribute tables to look for any
obvious errors in the data that could be triggering the failure. What might
the "not nullable" be referring to?
Thanks so much for any advice provided!
Best,
Kimberly
